This guide will walk you through the different ways grades are posted and handled in the different assignment types across Learn Ultra.

What is "Posting Grades?"

In Learn Ultra, grades are withheld from students until they are “Posted.” This eliminates the need to hide a Grade Center column while entering student grades, and makes it easy to release grades for an item to the entire class at the same time. Simply, an unposted grade is hidden from the student, while a posted grade is visible. 

IMPORTANT: Only posted grades are considered in the Overall Grade. Posting a previously unposted grade will result in a change in the overall grade.

Posting Grades on Assignments/Exams

For Assignments or exams, grades can be set to be automatically posted, or manually posted. The following guide will direct you to the setting to enable or disable automatic posting. 

 

Discussion Boards and Posting Grades

Discussion Boards do not have the same "Post Assessment Grades Automatically." For discussions, a grade entered will not be posted automatically and will need to be posted by the instructor once they are ready.
