Overview
There is a limit of 100 MB limit for all file types uploaded to Blackboard. This guide will review why file size limits are in place, and what you can do to decrease file size.
Why limit File Upload Size?
- Support student access: Large files take longer to download, which can create issues for students.
- Support Course Archives: Unnecessarily large files create issues during the course archive process, and slow down course restorations.
- Maintain system performance: Keeping files smaller reduces the overall size of the Blackboard database, helping prevent performance issues and ensuring we stay within institutional storage limits.
Who does the file size limit apply too?
Everyone: staff, admins, students, instructors, and other Blackboard users.
